What Blogger taught me about getting into Google searches

Meta Tags is a blog description. Make sure this descriptions is highly key worded. Google's web crawlers will use this information when pulling websites for a search. This will also show up after your website name in a search.
So you want your blog to have a great start! One thing you have to consider is how people will find you. SEO is search engine optimization. This is how Google and other search engines list, and find your blogs when people search key words. When I started to think about my sites SEO i went directly to the source to find out what Blogger says about the fact. If you were to Google seo you would get a crazy about of information. So its just better to go to the experts.
What I learned is first you need to allow search engines to access your blog.
First you Need to go to your Settings> Basic. Then add a description to your blog. This helps Google define what your blog is about. Then go to Privacy and edit the settings. You can choose to add your blog to the Blogger Listing. You can also allow search engines to find your blog.
Then you can access your SEO Options under your Settings Tab and then go to Search Preferences. If you need a tour of your Blogger settings Click here.
Error Pages are the pages your viewers are sent to when they click a bad link or have an error. They are normally called 404 pages. Here you would give your viewer a nice message letting them know they should push the back button or a link to go to back to your main page.
Crawlers and Custom Robots, I would not touch these settings unless you have done further research. I did not change these settings for my blog.

How to create a Blog like mine...
I created this blog to share my knowledge. So one of my first post i wanted to create was one documenting how i created this website. I'm a big fan of word press if you want to create a website for a business but if you want to blog, I would use Google's blogger.
You can get the official Blogger Tour. Click {here} to check it out.
So You can read the artical or watch this video!
All you need to get started is a Gmail Account,
which is free to get started!
All you need to get started is a Gmail Account,
which is free to get started!
On this page you can learn what a blog is and how to get started. After reading through this tour, click on the orange "Create a Blog" button that is towards the top of the left column.

Next, you will be asked for your gmail account to create a blog. If you don't have a
gmail account, create one by filling in the information below.
The next page will bring you to your profile. You can add a picture if you want to, but you don't have to. Click on the "Next step" button.
On the next page, click on the "Back to Blogger" button.
The next page will be your blogger dashboard. Click on the "New Blog" button.
This is the hardest part. What the name of your blog will be?
On this page you can also choose a blog template, but don't freak out. Also don't get bogged down by the choices available . Just pick the first one that appeals to you and move on.
You will be able to change this at any time!!
After you think of a blog name, address and pick a template, click on the "Create Blog!" button.
Now that you have set up your blog, you can go back and change the backgrounds and templates! FUN!
Find that little arrow on the right side and a drop down menu will appear. Click on "Template."
Then click on the "Customize" button.
On this page, you can change the template, background, width, layout, and more. Play as much as you want until you get the look you want. To change the background image, click on the word "Background" and then right below, where it says background image {where the arrow is pointing}.
From here you can choose your background image. Blogger has lots to choose from and they are all free! When you find the background you want to use, click on the "Done" button in the lower right hand corner.
When you have made all the changes you want to make to your blog, click on the "Apply to Blog" button in the upper right hand corner.
Good luck and welcome to the world of blogging! You can find more information about creating the template by going here https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/176245?rd=1
