Allowing students to explore the science behind color that they can see is fun and interactive with Exploratoriums free iPad app Color Uncovered.
I allowed students to explore this app on their own. They quickly became consumed by the e-book's experiments that allow students to see the with their own eyes the power of color. After students read the eBook they answered a couple of opened questions on Edmodo.
You will need a cd case, white index cards and some drops of water available. I was a little worried about letting water get anywhere near the ipads, but it was well worth it! I had a small dish of water and let students dip their finger into the water and put a drop on their screen. Then students could easily use a tissue or their sleeve to soak up the drop of water. When I have free apps this app is still a regularly visited.
